But since some of you have followed me over 4 blogs and 2 social networks over 10 years,
I'm going to try to break it down for you;

Since I started my full time job marketing supercars, I foresaw this happening.
And I'm almost too embarrassed to admit it, now that it has happened.

I'm down to a blog post a week and I'm wondering if this is It.

I could end here, this my goodbye, and end our permanent mental vaycay sunning in Unreality on Epiphany Isle.
It's quieter now indeed but keep in mind that just because it's quiet, doesn't mean nothing is in the works.

I don't know about you, but my new year celebration was a blur of bright lights!
Avoided the ridonkulous KL jam and parked myself at Encorp - Red Carpet Avenue, the new 'IT' spot in Kota Damansara, for their Mystical Eve countdown.

MHB buddies Mei Sze, Me and Miss I-am-the-Witch getting walkered up...

....And we intended to go all the way! ;)

The night started early by my standards but boy was it crowded!

There were a ton of performances not to be missed,
And as promised in my teaser post...

But irregardless, we also got to catch...

So last night, amongst the drunken flurry of lights and sounds at the Mystical Eve 2012 Red Carpet Avenue countdown, 3 people excitedly asked me if I was engaged and 2 just hugged me and said 'Congratulations!'

Oh, Happy 2012 by the way!

Anyhoots, I think it started from me Tweet-ing that I got to wear my birthday ring to work for the first time the day before, even though I did not re-size it.

So no, I am still a free agent protracted exclusively to one syndicate and not shackled by a piece of paper just yet :)

It's a white gold birthday ring Dimps hid and gave me on a frosty morning after carting me to Korea for Christmas.

Yes, I feel as lucky as it sounds.

So, here's to a luckier 2012, Pillowtalkers!

In the matter of hours, I'll be on my way to the airport and Seoul bound for Christmas 2011!

It may start snowing so *fingers crossed* :))

I know I'm going to freeze to death but don't mind the enthusiasm as I haven't seen snow since I was 5!

Since then, the closest I was to cold was in Taipei last year.....

...and Paris at the end of Autumn a lifetime ago.

Lucky for me I got some idea's during a Winter Fashion Show for a French Couture House last month.

But no matter how cold it is in the Seoul with possible snow, I can at least anticipate coming back and having a tropically warm and MSYTICAL EVE 2012 on the 31st of December!

And I can give you 5 guarantee's it will be getting hot at the NYE Party at THE STRAND, Kota Damansara.

1. The countdown and party will be hosted by Julie Woon....

2. And also Megan Tan of that Quickie show on Msian TV.

3. If you have yet to see Aerial dancers then know that girls balancing on poles is event entertainment passe. Rope twirling in mid-air is IN.

I've been writing so long I sometimes forget how long because I changed my blog site every year until I nestled into Pillowtalkpromises. Though traffic is decent, it's quiet and somehow that's what I prefer; The Fishbowl Life.

Today, I discovered this comment on my 'What's My Age Again' post and found myself not so alone in the waters.

It has been a long time, so long I even forget I used to live any differently.
I recall feeling completely alone and convinced myself I was happy that way, waterproof to my surroundings. But I guess I wasn't happy, so unknowingly I let things change.

Hope the rest of you have such heart warming moments of realization, especially in this soft season of togetherness . Just remember that no one can ever be as completely alone as they may sometimes feel.

What's My Age Again?

If something worth having is worth suffering for then I'm on the right track.
Although sometimes, because what you want to attain is so far away,
the Needless aspect often sets in to curdle.
I always try to do my best to be ahead of where I could be.
And looking back on what I give up to get there, it can't be for nothing.
So when I feel unhappy of where I've gotten myself, I have 2 options;

With everything I've done with my years, people often forget how old I really am.
Heck, I forget how I am some days.
After all, I've modeled for 6 years, emcee-d over 40 events in 2 of it, held a full time job social media marketing then continued for a year as a fashion writer all while blogging until I got paid to. Not to mention I self managed all those careers while living out of home the entire time. Work aside, I spent a good amount of the years networking myself into KL's social scene, read a gazillion books and traveled to broaden my perspective while relentlessly put myself out there, heart break after heartbreak, till I found my Ideal life partner.
Now, I've landed on a highly enviable job in the niche of a niche of a niche market.
People tell me that's amazing,
Really amazing, for someone my age,
But to be honest, I feel like I'm struggling,
All 22 years of me.

When you sit in an older person's position, you are expected to know certain older people things.
Like how to read minds of multiple people, none of who really are or want to be in charge of you.
Or to balance being quicker without losing details.
Sometimes I'm expected to assume things because nobody is really telling me anything,
and then I'm told not to assume anything, yet get told I should already know something when I ask because I should have already asked somebody else.
Then to get apprehended for not knowing what a 28 year old would feels.....unfair.
I definitely do not get the salary of someone older, yet I'm expected to perform as one resulting in the paperwork to my current unhappiness.

I think I have acted my age enough, hiding in the bathroom to cry on one occasion from the stress of being better than the best I can be. But I also deducted this all can't be for nothing.
Thus, I will be faking the professional facade of an older woman who has actually lived long enough to learn all these things I'm expected to know, till I actually do.
Life is unfair so having it unfair too makes me relatively normal in a way.
And since I'm ahead of where I could be and on the right track, why digress?
People have done greater for less.

Then in the middle of the tangled ball of yarn that is my thoughts, it hit's me,
'What is my age, again?'
Well today I'm 22 and in 11 days I'll be 23.
Before we know it, I'll be lying about my age!
So till then I am 22 and very happy with the sacrifices I have made and will continue to make.
Feeling miserable in our decisions can be just a passing cloud on rainy day and I'm sharing mine for those of you over achievers who are beating themselves up too. You aren't alone and I'll see you at the top someday where we can laugh about it :)

I know very few solutions come at the bottoms of shot glasses.

Till I traded excessive alcohol for expresso's.

And I am happy to report it does solve my lack of concentration at work come 11.30am, 2.30pm and 5.

I think drink almost as much coffee as I used to drink tequila come Friday.

But speaking of liquid leisure, I drink mostly wine and at most 3 times a week.

Shocking? I didn't realize till the Black Circuit Brazil party on Saturday when not 1, not 2 but 5 people asked me something along the lines of,'WHERE THE FCUK IS BRIE?' when I turned down drinks.

I work all week and then some, so if I'd like to pass shots so I get my Sunday, I will :)

Besides, the shot of coffee I had pre-party helped keep me lighting up the dancefloor most of the night.

It's about priorities.

Before I talk about eyewear and eyes, let me first address the face.

My mother believes a person shouldn't hide their 'ong' or 'face luck,' which is mainly the forehead area. Thus, I wasn't allowed to have a fringe all my life and till today find any accessories or hair that fall on it an irritant in my unfamiliarity.

Me. my mommy and older sister.

I'm not superstitious so much. It is really more of a vanity issue; I just don't adore anything enough to cover my face behind (Wear my Tom ford, Gucci and Marc Jacob shades once a month at best. And my Hugo's are strictly for house use)

So it is a genuine compliment, from me, when I decide to complement my look with a pair of statement glasses.

Whose fault is it that it happened to be handmade in Italy ;)

I can't help that I just bore so easily.
I almost make ADD American kids look like Asian overachievers.
Yet maybe that's because I am American.

Was tagged in this by a friend with a Facebook dog (no,seriously) and it made me tear.

Pro - I still have feelings.

Con - I had to lie to colleagues and tell them it is that time of the month.

Guess, it is touching because nobody ever really put to words what a dog could be thinking about.
And because that sad little animal in the picture could be yours.

Since I can remember, ~~after my desire for a Pony died,~~ I've always wanted a dog.

So, I know it sounds pretty ridiculous that I live in a condo with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 cats.
But if you think that's bad, I manage more than 70 pairs of ridiculously high heels making 5 cats a breeze, really. #savefail.
Shoes don't ricochet off the walls, 2nd base the designer chairs or go all Hannibal Lector on their watery hairballs in the morning.

Most days I wonder how it is I don't have a dog like I always dreamed of.

But I guess cats have a way of conspiring to get themselves stuck in drains and seducing you with their lack of need for toilet training. Thus, I consider myself an ANIMAL PERSON instead of the cat crazy lady I've been made out to be, or to eventually become. I'd like to have a dog, truly. But I just don't have the time or space now to give them what they need. I'd like to believe I do justice for my cats as they don't seem to need much. But some days after coming home late when I walk in on them half glazed before they realize it's me and pounce to my feet to smell how my day was, I really question it.

After seeing the tear-jerky picture, my 4 year old Puss In Boots, Leia, crept up in my mind. It totally breaks my heart to know she will probably not live to be in my 30th birthday pictures and I always wonder if this Life I've provided is enough for her to die happy. People ask me where I get these ideas from; Cats don't think about such things! But how do we know that? I sure don't but what I do know is that she is my cat and I want her to have lived a comfortable life of kitty contentment because even if she doesn't know, I'll know and I will have many years to reflect on it after she is at rest and I can't do anymore for her.

So last week, I got my supercar office lady tush down to KL after work to support something I believe in.

So much so I even pledged to it..

Gotta put your money where your mouth is!
And in my case, it's my name.

It takes effort to be part of a cause bigger than yourself...

...to get people to watch and say,'Hey, why aren't we doing this already?'

And if that isn't worth sitting in KL jam after work hours, I don't know what is :)

So exactly what is this sudden pledging about at the first CODE FRIDAY event?
Well, I'd start after offering you something to drink..

But only if you promise not to drink and drive!!

LOL.
I was at PERNOD RICARD Malaysia 'Be In Control. If You Drink Don't Drive' campaign launched as part of their global Responsible Drinking movement.

And I get it, people tend to underplay drinking and driving because most people drink to forget responsibilities. However, you wouldn't believe to stress the point at this launch, they were NOT serving alcohol

Well, to teach hard core drinkers like me a lesson *pouts*

On the bright side, there was lots of nips from La Bodega to soften the blow.

It even came with personal waiters.

Or otherwise known as Sam-Insanity which is self explanatory ;)

Speaking of 16, I found someone who definitely fits the bill.

I may not be in control after 15 shots but I am responsible enough to plan to have a designated ~~driver~~ date to ferry me home SAFELY. (I know a keeper when I see one)

On sober side note, all of us left after being well entertained by model cum dj Patricia Knudsen!

Tried to get a good picture of her for U but the DJ console was so highhhhhhhh :(

Which is perfect if you are a club that is centered around live band and great DJ-s.
The event was hosted at new club NEVERLAND which is on Jalan Kia Peng in KL.

Left feeling high on goodwill :)

So, I do go to every Tom, Dick and Fabulous Harry's party in KL, almost indefinitely.

Life after Rock Bottom

call me an old fashioned but today I am going to gore you with actual W-O-R-D-S.

Not many people can stomach sashimi raw Honesty.

I don't know when it happened, exactly, but it did. Feels like just yesterday that everything felt so intrinsically painful in it's imperfection, back when I hated waking up almost as much as I hated people who wore socks with slippers (And I hate that more than 90's Boy Bands, so totally, like, yeah.) Regressing, I can't properly pin point the moment it changed because I feels like I just blinked and when I opened my eyes it got, for lack of a better word.....better. For those of you who have followed me for years on older blogs or famed Facebook notes, you would have seen the shadows of the black sheep, the Soulmate, the depersonalization, the stress induced schizophrenia and the swallowing of every anxiety medication they prescribe to people when they don't really know what is wrong. I fell so deep that somehow to survive I came to terms with Depth and my past lives feels like movies I watched ages ago. And, I don't know if I should be happy the storm has passed or a little sad I didn't get to go outside in the drizzle.

Now this is going to get un-religious.

I'm a born and raised ATHEIST with every little bit of Chinese superstition sprinkled on top. Reading up on psychology and sociology now, it seems comforting to see that being born into the Belief of Coincidence tends to lead individuals down dustier paths to come to terms with their existence. I have somewhat, and accept every belief as part of an umbrella of directional goodness but no, I did not adopt a religion. Even if you are religious, you can surely understand how someone not born into it cannot simply grasp something someone they never met said. We all need to grasp sometimes, so instead of a organized religion, I held on to self subjected experiences that I can deduct on my own in my own time. If finding faith frees you, I never had the struggle because I wan born shackled to self explanation. (And none of that is said with any conceivable offence. So, if you are offended just because I am vaguely talking about something as 'sensitive as religion', then I'm not being judgemental when I say you are being small minded. I don't go on attack when someone assumes the 'fate of my soul' or the demerits of my faithlessness. I'm AGNOSTIC so go hate on some Atheist who openly thinks 'God' is a good as Santa Clause. I do NOT, so leave me be to my personal revelations.) So anyhow, I think the darkest pits was where I would have wound up eventually no matter which bad decisions I baked of left as batter. But, from there I had the opportunity to slowly mould myself the person I had yet to know I wanted to be.

While I was not asking for the world to bend over backwards or do anything really,
I was asking myself, 'Have you had enough?'
Guesss that explains the fame of 'Eat, Pray, Love', the book then the blockbuster movie, because only from nothing can you stand a chance to become everything you never dreamed of.
And here I am, World :)
Self made from scratch and every bit acceptable to myself and that is all that matters to me anyway.
So aside from writing this to let loose some of the honesty afforded to people I actually know,
I want you to know that if you are feeling a little hopeful reading about some strangers Happiness, you too could get it good someday. You may need to fall so deep that everything starts to looks good but hey, to each his own.
My own is a bottomless pit I've learnt to call Home and redecorated with the sarcasm that comes with deliberate acceptance and refurnished with a little of the high life I was willing to work smart and suffer for.

Hope you are still bracing yourself cause this may just be the humble stepping stone to a habit of Honesty here.

And I promised myself to go darker as my hair grew longer to have a more chiseled and classic look.

Not with award winning Senior Style Expert Alex it ain't.
It took twice as long and every cut he made was meant to serve my hair tips better..

He gave me a 'transient length' cut and with his history with Toni and Guy, known for their easily maintainable cuts, I felt happy to know I can keep the look after I go all hobo at home.

Was eager to see what I'd get...

...and felt so 'JENG' or shockingly stand-out after.
Oh well, it is just Phase 1.

ZERONA in Malaysia: Laser Liposuction?!

Let me disclaim way ahead of this post that

I know, I am NOT fat.

Much unlike skinny girls who go "OMG, I’m like so freakin obese,"
I know that I am slim enough to gain a few kg of muscle even.

However, I tell you this with years of experience looking backstage at models and women in general;
Even slim people have ‘fatty’ areas. The kind that withstand slimming creams, diet and exercise.

And although I have some on my hips, I’d say the one I can’t ever seem to sweat off is the fat on…

…my inner thighs!

A lot of people say the only solution for stubborn fat deposit areas (Tummy, hips, inner thighs) is surgical procedures like Liposuction. But I personally don’t feel the need to put my health in considerable risk for vanity sake.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure and although it gives you results fast, it gives your body long term issues due to the fact it removes fat cells PERMANENTLY.

OMGTHATSAWESOME!

Not so much.
When you have no fat cells in one area, this happen....

..Oh yeah/Eww!

Our Messier Fullness.

A day working from home while my litter of Loves live drowsy.

Here are my 2011 additions to the Teh-Liberty residence.

Tigro: 6 months since she was a crusty flea bitten kitten with patches from infection.

Bonnie and Mari-O.

Mari-O: 1 month rescue kitty from a deep ditch.

Still limping and meowing for his mom who left him there.

Clyde: No longer underfed, homeless or able to reproduce.

I get my pets neutered because I've been told too many times by others that they rather leave a kitten to die than take it home.

I live with 5 cats and it's messier than it used to be but a lot more full.

My housemate showed to be the kindest person who bottle fed these kittens (through scratches) and lives with them regardless of his allergies. He rather be sick than walk by them thinking their lives are too much a trouble.

So this post is for him :)

Now he can get back to work to earn more money to pay for the gourmet cat feed and manicures.

Holiday@MAI KHAO, PHUKET (Pt2)

Driving About, Day 2.

It's hot in Phuket, so make sure you stay hydrated!

With untainted liquids, that is ;)
Had nowhere to put my shell stash so I soaked them in the hotels wine glasses and almost drank it.

Since Mai Khao is a secluded getaway,
Dimps and I decided to spend our second day driving around other parts of the island.

It was cheaper for us to rent a car with the hotel than book one prior strangely.
1200baht instead of 1600baht (RM120/RM160) for a Toyota Vios/day.

Oh ya! Finally got to take a picture of RENAISSANCE entrance on the way out :)

When it comes to thai textile, I'm a huge Jim Thompson fan
(And not because he disappeared in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.)

And for those of you who don't know, they have 2 factory outlets in Phuket!

Drove to Canal Village just to raid it!
Makes great (and less touristy) souvenier for family and friends plus a good time to stock up on printed day bags and scarves.

While there, Dimps got me this to add to it!

Anyhow, it was a scenic 40 minute drive to Patong that we enjoyed while listening to Thai pop on the radio.

Found ourselves under Jungceylon, Rat-U-Thit Road at Food Haven for lunch!
I finally deviated from less oily/extra spicy Pad Thai and opted for less oily/extra spicy glass noodles.

Adventurous much?
I just know what I like :)

From there we walked to the infamous Bangla Road but strippers need sleep too.
So we drove to Patong Beach for tea instead.

And in Thailand, tea for me is frozen coconut juice!
So glad we didn't stay near Patong.. The water looks like Milo :(

However, the unswimmable areas furthur down look pretty decent.

And you can park your car by the roadside to sample a bunch of motorbike-makeshift food stalls,
where we found banana pancakes!

..or what I called Thai Roti Canai!
Only 40baht (RM4) for us 'Singaporean Tourists'.
We assumed everyone thought so because we speak good England.
Owh, I mean English :)

On a side note, driving about Phuket was pretty scary because we noticed a lot of trucks tilting from overload.

We were hunting from Premium Mall but their website failed us and we ended up going back and forth around the island. So for the record, the huge outlet mall is further down from Bypass Road.

No pictures because we were so glad to finally find it (After 2 hours) and when we did, Dimps left me alone and lost me. Seriously. I was alone for 40 minutes not knowing how to find him because he changed his sim card and didn't think to leave me the number :'((

So when he found me, he didn't let me out of his sight for the rest of the trip:)

All in all, it was a long day and we just wanted to have a quick dinner wherever and head back to Mai Khao.
Made our way to Phuket Town for random restauranting.

It's called Fine Day.

It came off as a youthful Thai filled restaurant that isn't very authentically Thai.
Little did we know..

Phuket Town is NOT for tourists.
SPICIEST THAI FOOD EVER!
And not even by request! SO. GOOD ;')))))
I even ate rice just so the tom yam wouldn't burn a hole through to my kidneys.

It was Saturday night and there were fireworks nearby that we got to watch while eating.
Add to that, the super friendly non english speaking owner gave us free shots!
Highly recommend Fine Day at Chumphon Road to any spicy food lovers who are in Phuket Town who want to migle with young Thai people instead of tourists.

Lux Lounging, Day 3!

Another morning of nipping the buffet spread..

..and their breakfast ice cream :)
It's a holiday right?

Took a walk around RENAISSANCE again to ease the guilt.

Child pool area with slide next to the nursery.

We spotted a grasshopper amongts the lush greenery...

..and I asked Dimps if we should give it to a Thai person to fry.
He said only if I eat it.

Went back to the pool by the beach...

And decided we should try to counter-photosynthesize the food we ate in the sun :)

Was quite windy so swimming was a no-no as the waves were pretty high..

...but no one said I couldn't dip my toes in it's remnants.

A couple hours and a bath later, we found ourselves peckish so we decided to have a bite...

..with the best view at the hotel lounge of the sun setting.

So nice to nestle under the light warmth of the day :)

Not without something to drink, of course :)
The deli at the hotel had tons of interesting coffee table books..

This was my favourite book, to Dimps horror.
This book was far cuter though.

It made me miss all my champagne sippin' ladies in KL!

Came dinner time, we decided to check out Sala Resort and Spa next door..

Awesome water lobby :)

And unique bling bird cage lights I'm going to try to recreate someday!

Yes, I was still gushing over the deco.

Who wouldn't want this at the side of their garden?

Glad we managed to reach their fine dining fusion

Thai restaurant by sunset...

But unfortunately, the ambience was to make up for the underwhelming food.

Basil chicken and cashew with vegetables.

Chilli and lime fish.

I guess Living in KL where great Thai food is so affordable and having more than decent local food all about Phuket, the hoity toity restaurant seemed somewhat disappointing.

Ah well, the ambience an sitting on their big tree swings in the dark together was well worth the visit to Sala :)

Ok, Dimps checked out.

I stared at the wall.

And the huge water feature we think is some cryptic sexual message.

Then we left our bags and took the hotel buggy back to the other side of Mai Khao lake...

To have our last Thai meal for our holiday!

Made sure I picked a good dish and what's more commercially Thai than...

....Pinepple Rice :)

So that was our little Phuket getaway.
Got a mental time out with a tan to match ;)

And the airport wants you to remember...

Holiday@MAI KHAO, PHUKET (Pt1)

It's my second time to hit the largest island in Thailand but Patong was far too congested to be on my holiday list.

So, we decided to check out a more secluded area; MAI KHAO is famed to have the longest beach in Phuket shared by only a few choice hotels and spas! Took only 20 minutes from the airport to Mai Khao, compared to an hour it takes to reach Patong.

Sneaked one of those tourist maps in the airport! Always helpful :)

Super quick check in, as expected by RENAISSANCE, Phuket.

Walking to our room was like getting a mini tour :)

And here it is!

Contemporary and quiant with a visible couples bathtub ;)

And because we got a honeymoon package (10 months is still honeymoon, right?)...

They we're extra hospitable :)

Add to that, they also gave us a great view from the 4th floor!

Us having a quick snack before heading for lunch.

Dimps amused me by doing this....

I always used knives.

Sheesh.

Yet what are holidays but to make new memories :)

It was time for lunch but I refused to eat hotel food.

So we took a buggy service to the other side of the lake in front of RENAISSANCE for some local noms.

Thats the kind of restaurant to hit up if you Don't want some non spicy white people version of...

...Tom Yam Goong!

Had to fight off beach flies though.

The trick is to put the prawn shells on a plate at the other end of the table.

Was pretty exhausted so took a 1 hour nap and woke up in time for sunset served in bed.

(Immigration took more than an hour due to insufficient lines; 6 for 2 planes of tourists)

Got up to take a night walk around the hotel..

...To find a eatery villa by the beach.

Love how the fibre optics in the zen stone garden lights up the walkway.

Sat by the bar and played 3D Tic Tac Toe over gourmet pork/sausage pizza :@

And that was the end of our arrival day!

And we we're so psyched for day two we got up at 7am.

Decided to take a cycle around the lake as the hotel has bikes for guests.

After which we had buffet breakfast; Save a Boost juice worthy juice bar, crepe and omelette service,
I was super impressed with their real honeycomb dripping out fresh honey!

After which we HAD to walk it off...

...All the way to the beach front!

Where I proceeded to steal the shells from the sand :)

Then we decided to rent a car and hit Canal Village, Patung and Phuket Town!

Nights Out@Merc has got a C-cret!

When the big C comes back for a new day,

And play we did at Mercedes Launch of the New Generation C Class in Kuala Lumpur!

The built for occasion location was indeed filled justly.

So naturally, the unveiling of the new Merc C Class will be KL's worst kept C-cret ;)

After the ceremony, most made their way on stage check out the ride,
while we decided to press some big buttons.

Natacha and I tried to beep the horn but realized the car needs to be switched on.

*epic model fail*

But nonetheless, the black C still deserved some admiration....

....While the white Merc C class got all of the bright lights a-flashin'!

And not to mention, all the bubblies got us girls giddy with laughter.

The post launch party started off with The Matsaleh's rockin out the stage.
Second time seeing their lead singer up close and if everything I heard of Freddy Mercury was about right, I think he's as close as KL will get to the late rockstar :)

So, after another round of snapshots, we called it a surprisingly great night (Better than Henney and JW parties 2011 strangely) and zipped off to Aristo's for some house music to cap off a Thursday.

And of course, as with any of my public dalliances, I was Dimple-doted the whole time.

Why I Don't Eat Maggi Cup Noodles.

The last time I remember eating Maggi Cup Noodles was in 2008 in Bangkok, because by the time I checked in the hotel, everything was closed and the roadside food looked like stuff thats been re-fried 15 times, minimum. But aside from that, I don't eat cup noodles. I know it's an awesome 2 step of pour hot water and add powder that only takes about 5 minutes.

But this only takes 8 minutes.

Summer 2011 Color Story; Laura Mercier Portofino!

My sister is back from Seattle and while hitting up Bangsar Village 2,

we went 'Nauti-gal' and said hello to Laura Mercier!

Hot?

NO, we are going for warm tones! ;)

You see, it's still cold in Seattle, so I had to dip my sis in everything sunny in KL!
And that was made easy with the Laura Mercier Portofino Summer 2011 collection!

Well captured, I'd say as I imagine a holiday at Portofino in Italy would embody just that.

Something nautical inspired, something flambouyantly warm yet mutedly elegant in it's boldness.

The Bangsar Village Laura Mercier counter carried more of the Portofino collection than I could justify buying for my make up collection, sadly :( *I WANT IT ALL*

But I'm a totaly sucker for Limited Ed's so I had to get dusted with their Riviera eye make up palatte!

Vanny, a Laura Mercier friendly and informed staff, offered to help me out with the Portofino eye make up and luckily she did because I now know a brand new way to wear my eyeliner;

in mystical blue instead of black!

*boring girl make up technique GUYS should skip part entirely*

She lined the top and lower bottom my eyes with a navy blue pencil before dusting it over with the limited editions Riviera palatte's dark blue. After that she lightly blended in some of the nude over my lid and used the light blue for the waterline of my eyes. The white made a perfect highlight for my brow and nose to finish the look :)

Waiting in boredom didn't suit my sis...

.....so she got her pout prettied up with the Laura Mercier Portofino's Sunrise Cream Lip Color!
And how could I resist being a copy cat and us looking like twinsies!

The color went fabby with my orange mani! (Notice the blue cat eyes!)

I know Springs IT color is orange but it doesn't translate to make up for the fashion faint-hearted.

Are you obsessed with everything Spring?

Well, I still am! *taps away with OPI orange nails*

Speaking of Spring, I stopped by the CLINIQUE 'Pick a Smoothie, Get a New Look' at Midvalley recently.

It was done in conjunction with the launch of their Spring collection

Vitamin C Antioxidant Lip Smoothie!

'SO YARMY, CAN EAT!' was what everyone said bout my soft glossy lips :)

It comes in Mango-thon, Goodness Grapelicious and Pink Me Up!

CLINIQUE is already well known for their 3 step skincare..

...and I'd be more inclined to trust a skincare brand with the condition of my lips!

Not likewise ;)

So to gain further credibility on my CLINIQUE convictions, I decided to give their make up a go..

,,And said a rare YES to a makeover!

(Aside from professional make up artists I work with at fashion shows, I generally do not let anyone touch my face! I'm super anal on skin hygiene!)

So here is me before I got to test out the limited edition CLINIQUE Spring 'Pretty in Prints' compact!

Seeing husky neutrals for the everyday application :)

Here the CLINIQUE make up artist is priming on the eye color while I squint to see it on my modest Asian eyelids.

After which she lines my eyes with CLINIQUE Quickliner for more definition.

Now, she uses the brown eye shadow to line my bottom lash area before we move on to pumpin' me with CLINIQUE High Impact Mascara.

High Impact? You decide ;)

And while I get giddy'd up with the 'Pretty in Pink' default blusher...

A Tigers Stripes.

Somebody commented to me, the act I've slipped into is amusing indeed,
but tigers don't change their stripes.
And I guess that is a fair judgement as I have yet to morph into a different animal.
But just because I can't change the person I am intrinsically,
does not mean I can't choose to behave differently.
A tiger is merely an animal blending into the blades until it makes the choice to strike.
And I'm as guilty as grass till then.

For my Dimpleheads 27th this 2011 we had a big BBQ at Ayuria, Mont Kiara, and the party wouldn't have been the same without...

We also prepared surprise 'CUT-THE-ROPE' CUPCAKES for birthday girl, Marie after being prompted by her bf Jeryl!

Everything was done pretty much last minute, with Dimps and I pre-pepping and cooking for 15 that grew to 30! So having the cakes ordered in totally made the day!

Since the party, EVERYBODY has been asking me where I got the cake and cupcakes made so here it is:

When it comes to private tea parties, one of the biggest choices you'll have to make is...

..if you'll be needing a hat.

And of course, matching accessories at any cost!

Alas, the secret to great hats is picking one that can stay in the frame.

However, thighs will always take precedence over the top of your head.

For the non-boring tea parties anyway :)

Also, make sure the tea is hot and the guest is entertained...

..by your immaculate conversation skills, of course.

And when he/she starts to sink in their seats, be quick on your feet..

..and offer them a bite to eat!

P.S - The figure of the model was not harmed in the making of this shoot.

Singapore Thai Festival 2011!

From the 23rd to 27th of June I went down...

...for my first emcee-ing gig in Singapore!

Got to host the Royal Thai Embassy's Thai Festival 2011!

Had the opportunity to officiate the event alongside Mr.Jitti Suwannik, the Chance d'affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy Singapore.

Explaining a new eco friendly Mulberry 3D paint, made from plant fibres and made in Thailand!

And get some crowd interaction time with Singaporean masses :)

But mostly, I was hosting their daily performances that was flown in to bring Thailand right to Singapore!

Here, the dancers are performing the Ton Warachet dance, a display of 'enduring uniformity of step' ;)

Yes, I memorized my script well.

And here, the male dancer is doing a slow and dramatic 'Angel Dance.'

I'm currently in love with all the sharp GOLD ornaments they wear with their cultural garb.

Dream of doing a shoot in it someday *fingers crossed*

Also, enjoyed running their daily cultural inspired runways showcasing Thai textiles.

All clothes were brought in from a fashion house in Chiang Mai and prices were pretty crazy due to the fabric.

Aforementioned Thai runway models and Ms. Buniga Chamsai, helping me host the Grand Lucky Draw!

Someone won a 3 night stay at Rembrant Hotel Bangkok! #iwannakeepformyself

So as you can see, I was mostly talking non stop.

They even prepared an array of loaded mikes for me just in case! ;p

And it was pretty cool getting familiar with the sound system and how it works since I spent so many hours there.

Everyday I was on standby at Orchard from 11.30am and stayed till 8pm.

Post work, I hit Seletar Reservoir to get some midnight shots!

I know it looks bright, but we were in pitch darkness save street lamps.

Thanks to Razin Razor's magnificent experimentative lighting, we got this sort of effects! :)

Mad lovin' but it still wasn't enough, so we hit his studio at Arab Street on my last night there..

I know, been modelling since 17 and never needed 1in KL since everyone knows everyone.

MRT'd all the way to City Link during my lunch break to visit Prints file shop not knowing they had one on the 4th floor of Ion :(

Did all that so I could use another break to hit up Upfront Models agency and cast to see if they are willing to give a Chinese, American born Malaysian based Emcee/Model consideration.

But even if I don't get it, at least I had the initiative to go all out of my way to try :)

I can live with that.

But still, the best part of my time away from what I love in KL...

..is that what I love came to me :)
10 hour coach ride just to watch me work for a day!

I've been told a lot of things in my 23 years of life, from a lot of different people; Some who mattered, some who didn't. Not that it matters, because sometimes strangers are willing to tell you the things your friends think they are saving you from. But that's why they are friends.

Irregardless, I take everything with a pinch of salt, but like a pinch, it may be short but it is still sharp. You are what you believe you are, and what you believe you are is often what you are percieved to be. So, sometimes, you are what people think you are. Yes, not without some personal tweaking to what you intend to be percepted as but often the blanks between the projector screen and the white wall beckons shadows, cast by everything in between.

This is what I awoke to this morning, next to my Murakami and stuffed monkey named Monkey in French. This is what I awake to most mornings next to whatever is beside me, wherever I am over the years. Now I sit in a single lighted, windowless room, with every foreign trait I perceive myself to have and cross examine it's existance hoping that maybe, just maybe that will be it's unbecoming. I've been told a lot of things I know weren't and aren't true. I just need to get my mind to share my sometimes shaky convictions.

I'd tell you what I've been told but then this will be a pity post, which it is not. This is me telling you for everytime you've been demoralized or condescended, you should make it a point to NEVER let anybody feel the way you've been made to. If someone you love suddenly tells you that you are useless and then you feel angry because they've betrayed you and end up making someone else feel useless instead, you become exactly what you didn't have to be just because you were told you are. I know great people, who can light up the room, who can also send a waitress into tears for not understanding what he ordered. He says it is because he's been trained to be like that from work, for work, and somehow forgets how to turn it off when he's not working. I can only conclude it's because That has become him, a person who makes another person feel worthless. He says it doesn't matter, it's just a waitress. I instantly think of everybody who must have though, it doesn't matter, it's just Brigette. And thinking of that makes me cry.

You are what you are, and that is what you are percieved to be by people who matter and by people who don't. Not that it matters because your friends are saving you from that Truth strangers don't get a chance to tell you.

CHANGE SOMEONE'S LIFE TODAY WITH THE DECENCY EVERY INDIVIDUAL DESERVES AND BE CHANGED IN TURN.

Just my Monday Morning rant before I hit the gym and change what I can while I struggle with what I can't seem to.

and between my mom shuffling back and forth, he comes back every so often.

But just so happens, not this particular weekend.

Thus, this is my first Daddy-less Dad's Day :(

Sloane Clinic+Spa in KL!

Most people can tell just by looking at your face, what your skin woes are. I generally suffer from dull and dry complexion with the occasional PMS spot and of course the early signs of ageing.

I've noticed these wrinkles on my forehead since adolescent and it has worsened over the last 2 years. I’ve used facial serums that cost more than gold and also done collagen stimulating procedures but to no avail :(
Thus, I decided it was time to get a proper consultation and treatment before it reaches a state of irreparability.

So it was just dumb luck when I was invited to SLOANE CLINIC'S soft launch in Maarof, Bangsar!

Here is Heleness and I with Dr Low Chai Ling, owner of the famed Sloane Clinic/Spa franchise in Singapore*! She is a doctor and mother of 2! Believe it! #theworldisnotfair

SLOANE is known for their skin pampering facials (I SO WANNA TRY!) and also their non evasive, skin enhancing procedures such a laser treatments and botox.

Me camwhoring in their powder room which comes equipped with touch up tools.

Love how SLOANE not only has their own skincare products, but also their own mineral make up line!

Prices are laid out there too.

Everything you try on can be purchased and I love how it's just left there for your perusal and not being pushed at you after your treatment. #hardsellsucks

Wasn't even done looking around before I was ushered by the friendly staff to the doctors office for my consultation!

I like how they had proper diagrams and in depth explanations for every single query I had.
It's good to do your own research prior to any consultation so you are aware of whats what, as I generally do. While inquiring about face slimming, Dr Teh Siew Yen ran me through non invasive procedure results you could get by relaxing the jaw muscle.

However, the topic did get back to what I thought were wrinkles,
but were actually frown lines >>:(

I suppose the years of being a worry wart (I frown in my sleep too!) has left me with a lot more muscle memory than I bargained for. It is really not about age, but about exaggerated usage of aforementioned forehead muscles.

The verdict was drawn:
I could do as many collagen treatments as I can afford and spend lavishly on products that aren't going to work because my skin is not old, it is just plain over used! SO BOTOX IT IS.

I know it sounds extreme. I'm 22 and I'm getting BOTOX!
You get all these ideas of what it is, but what is it?

Muscle paralysis?
Rat poison?

Botox is a muscle relaxer and has several medical uses including to treat cervical dystonia, excessive blinking and squinting, achalasia and even pediatric incontinence. *all sourced from wiki*

And a year after I was born, in 1989, it was discovered that it could also be used to relax muscles on the face for months at a time. I found that when it came to frown lines, some people had droopy eyelids as an unwanted side effect if not administered properly.
Dr.Teh assured me she would stay well out of the area.

So, time to pop my botox cherry!

They have these huge storage bags for you to put all your belongings in to be kept in a safe distance from you, for those paranoid of losing their handphones.

Case in point, me.
Was holding my Iphone all throughout the treatment.

20 minutes after numbing cream was applied, they tested by putting an ice pack on my forehead.
Felt almost nothing!
With that, marks were made and the doctor asked me if I was ready.

I guess I was.
But.............I hate injections!

So, really, I was being a big baby and all the attendants were laughing as I nervously joked that if I don't make it out alive, they should tell my mother I love her.
I also asked whether it will be painful, how long it will take and what to expect.....

I won't show you the injection pics coz I looked like a spaz.

But basically they had a vibrator on the other side of my face to distract me while the doctor quickly injected the botox while the nurse ice packed it before and after.

TOOK 4 MINUTES ONLY.
Felt so silly making a big fuss but what to do.
Thought I'd be getting a microdermabrasive face scrub when I came in, not a muscle relaxer!

Met the girls outside and found a random rainbow on the floor that cheered me up :)

Was given printed post treatment care.
No alcohol, gingko or vitamin E for me to avoid rare cases of bruising!

All in all, everyone left feeling satisfied with their treatments.
It always helps when you know you are in the hands of professionals, not aestheticians but real doctors!

Andy Kho, our OP, started feeling tempted to try a treatment after photographing all of ours.

Ah, the fun.

But unfortunately, I'm talking about HAIR.

Specifically about how long I realized mine has become!

I've waited so long for it to grow out! It's finally showing :)))

Ok, so my mane is not gonna give Rupunzel or pontianaks (A malaysian ghoul) a run for their money but for comparison,

Once again, my short shag is not going to give Anita Sarawak, butches or chemo patients a run for their money but it is still the shortest I've ever had :)

Took long enough to grow out due to my regular trims and hair breakage.
Will be sharing some hair tips soon because nobody's constantly dyed hair is naturally shiny ;P

And to serve the sensibilities of this posts title, Back from Black: Ain't Bout Length, it WAS black.
And now it is just longer ;)
